Sept 28th support "Doors Open Lambton County (DOLC) 2024!

Come next week, Sept 28th, we are supporting Doors Open Lambton County (DOLC) 2024! Our Forest Carnegie Library Event Centre is one of the buildings selected to be a part of this "Doors Open Tour"— doors will be open from 10 am to 4 pm. The tour manuel is found on lambtonmuseums.ca/en/doors-open.aspx - you can copy and past that address into the URL.

As our Doors Open participation, our curator Lisa Reaume, will chat with you about the building, while you enjoy glass of pink lemonade, with a cookie, or a warm cup of tea/coffee and mingle with fellow guests and enjoy the sounds of a Canadian-Only Playlist, put together by Stephen for your listening pleasure.

It is with great joy that we highlight our invitation to local Ontario artists, who have provided digital images of their stunning artwork. By digitally showcasing their work, we hope to inspire a trend of celebrating and commissioning works by our local artists to hang in our homes, offering a charming and valuable alternative to today's mass-produced decor. So if you are an Artist and would like a select few of your pieces shown digitally along with others of the community, please drop 350dpi images into -

As to other uses of the Event Centre, several family groups have engaged themselves in fun use of our facilities. We were blessed to have had the Forest Museum host an afternoon tea, where many came to support the Museum and had an opportunity to meet their staff. The Forest Museum is also on the Doors Open Tour, Sept 28th tour.

Our little building has seen exciting photography sessions by photographer Trish Anderson. She has the ability to capture such wonderful family moments for future enjoyment and remembrance.

A strong motivational group uses the space to hold their meetings, discuss, and make plans as have a couple of other businesses and faith groups. As well the place, has been colorfully decorated for wedding and baby showers.

And Yes it's that time when the leaves start to color and, in the early mornings, your breath can be seen as brief white puffs. Times change, kids grow, people move on, but some things are worth keeping—traditions, memories, and that's why we are here. Our efforts are to provide the right space to enjoy your own personal get-together; we mostly refer to that as an event. Slowly, we are getting our name and services out there; people are understanding how our facility can add value to their gatherings—so all kinds of events are fondly received and enjoyed!

Our goal is to make engaging, learning, planning, and connecting not only effortless and enjoyable but also affordable. We offer a great place to have a Christmas, holiday celebration... think about it. Christmas activities will be required soon. Talk with us, to see if we can make things easier and more fun for you and your gathering.

This building has been in your community since 1912, we are losing so many of our buildings, help us, as we recognize the potential of this historic 1912 building and its role to regain its deserved status as a "Great Place to Gather." Now open for your use, we encourage you to think beyond traditional boundaries and consider hosting unique events that excite and inspire.

Please help spread the word by sharing this information so that others can also support and benefit from this vibrant community asset.

All ideas are welcomed ....some suggestions, we have received include:

Sharing through music, cooking, reading, playing games and cards, even billiards, as well as fostering conversations, discussions and planning.

Modern Hub using high-speed internet, social media, and showing wonderful digital photography of local artists or maybe a family showing photos of the past.

Recognizing our age and the reality that homes aren't always set up for hosting a gathering; the event centre is a perfect solution, for preparation, serving, and cleanup—Host without the Hassle.

Fostering a Thirst for Knowledge, Feeding our innate curiosity, this building is an inviting environment whether with family, friends, or business associates; the openness lends itself to assist you in enjoying your social moments together.
